In the fourth quarter of 2023, the top travel and local apps on the Android platform in Africa demonstrated notable performance trends. Here’s a detailed look at the weekly downloads, active user counts, and overall trends for these leading apps.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel saw a significant rise in weekly downloads, starting from around 45K in late September and peaking at over 75K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users also increased steadily, growing from approximately 576K to 659K over the quarter.

Google Earth maintained a consistent number of weekly downloads, fluctuating between 30K and 50K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users showed a slight decline, starting at 330K and ending at around 313K.

Ego experienced a dramatic increase in weekly downloads, with numbers jumping from around 400 in late September to nearly 56K by mid-November before tapering off to about 13K by the end of December. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, rising from 5.5K to a high of 96K in late November, before slightly decreasing to 67K in December.
